Did you watch or follow the Olympics?
At London 2012, in most of the events, performances were jaw-dropping and awe-inspiring; wonderful athletes with mastery and perfection. With 204 countries and 10,500 participants, it was undoubtedly the best sporting event on the planet. Thanks to Pierre de Frédy, Baron de Coubertin for reviving the modern day Olympics. His words "The important thing in life is not the triumph but the struggle, the essential thing is not to have conquered but to have fought well." are ideal. I felt these games go beyond just sport, into the very existence of unity and integrity among these Nations that are diverse with various inhibitions.
Fortunes are made and realised every day during the small stay at an individual and national level. Tears of joy and tears of pain, an amalgamation of all the possible emotions came alive with a hope for a better tomorrow. Whether it is Beijing 2008 or London 2012, it is the triumph of the Human Race and Spirit.
